DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant is responsible for all the financial operations of the agency with the support of the Chief Executive Officer. The position works with QuickBooks and creates monthly reports for the Board of Directors.

The Staff Accountant is also responsible for developing annual agency and program budgets with support of management and program staff.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Delivery

Maintain accurate chart of accounts and accounts for financial transactions.

Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions and balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

Work with the Chief Executive Officer to develop, maintain and expand working relationships with local agencies, organizations, volunteer groups and those who provide financial resources.

Responsible for payroll and reporting of taxes to IRS

Program Evaluation

Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements

Prepare documents for annual audit.

Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information to determine progress and or issues.

Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.

Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports.

Requirements

Five or more years of (nonprofit) accounting and finance experience (bachelors preferred)

Primary responsibilities

Assist with month end close and monthly reporting.

Record tourna entries monthlv

Reconcile cash accounts and verify that transactions are properly recorded.

Oversee cash management and record all receivables and payables daily

Correspond with members to ensure timely processing of all bills.

Record pledges, grants, and donations in close coordination with Fund Developer informatior as needed

Offering a Hand Up

Oversee payroll processing and assist in filing all necessary Federal and State tax forms

Work Hours and Location and Salary

Part-time position with an hourly rate of $25.00 based on skills and experience. Most work hours will be during the daytime T-F 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with some evening hours and weekends required, as needed to assist with evening/weekend activities. The office location will be at 1600 Circle Park Blvd, Fort Worth, Tx 76164
